About the Independent Artist Support Community

Indieart.support is managed by independent artists. We have been entrusted with the valuable artist directory curated from 2022-2024 by the operator of Radio Free Fedi. For the moment our goal is to continue to maintain this directory, and to add discovery features to help artists be found by listeners, readers, watchers, and other artists.

Our loftier goals include other modules which benefit the artists listed in the directory. Looking forward, if you are offering or would like to offer an unapologetically pro-artist tool, service or content type such as reviews, release date calendars, virtual venues, well-attributed web services, or anything kindred and ethos-aligned platform celebrating indie art and fuelling good attribution and direct support, then please also reach out to us. We require for your service or tool to also not platform jerks. Such vetted services/tools/modules can be listed here under the umbrella as well as boosted or intergated into the megaphone of our social account for extending diversity, reach and discovery for the benefit of our artist siblings.

Admin, Privacy, More Ethos

We vet all entries in the directory to ensure that listed artists are not a hazard to our community. This includes reading your recent public social posts, checking out your support site, and reading song titles and lyrics, to be certain there are no dog whistles hiding there. Inclusion in the directory requires us to have a high degree of confidence in the safety of all our artists; you can help facilitate inclusion by having a fleshed-out artist presence, be it on your social account or on your artist web page.

We use open and non-commercial platforms and formats where possible. There are no ads, no third party remote scripts, cookies, trackers, fonts etc here and we expect the same of any modules and resources/services/modules we might include under this umbrella. We will try to include warnings of any services or modules linked that may have some variance. We will always endeavour to boost and work with parties that refuse to covertly skim focus, time or coin from artists. We use a minimal and local javascript for updating basic filter of the artist directory.
